Needham | Basement, Garage & Mudroom
Colleen wanted to take back her basement and garage which had become nothing more than places for her and her kids to dump things they didn’t want in the main house. She wanted a guest room but more importantly be able to easily access seasonal items such as: holiday decorations, sports equipment, camping gear and winter clothes. She wanted to be able to actually park a car in her 2-car garage.
Before
After
“I started working with Sylvia after my friend and neighbor raved about how helpful she had been in her household purging and reorganizing. I thought my goal was to have her help organize my basement storage area which was a dumping ground of unused and forgotten things, some of which were meaningful and would be used if properly stored.
From the first moment, I was impressed. She wanted to know what my priorities were and how she could best help me. She was happy to have me less involved which was my preference. She went through my many items and created piles of give away, throw away, keep and would ask me to come down and verify based on my availability. I was amazed at how efficient and effective she was. The result far exceeded my expectation and my 1 planned project with her has now turned into a complete organizational and re-design approach to my whole house. She even happily reorganized and cleaned out my disgusting garage and pool shed.
She even helped my reluctant teens in organizing and purging their rooms and guiding them with a budget oriented redesign to make their rooms feel like their style and place.
She makes everything easy. She buys things to show you in your space and happily returns anything that you do not prefer. She consistently asks for feedback and how she can better meet your needs. She is sensitive to budget and preferences without judgement, but is also able to be honest in a respectful way when your initial choice is not the most efficient or aesthetically pleasing. She even loved my dogs and put up with their jumping and circling her in excitement on arrival.
I have recommended her to many people since she started working with me and I have zero regrets about our collaboration. The only tough thing is controlling myself from constantly thinking of new projects that she can help me with!”
